Choose a pumpkin with a firm rind and no soft spots. Wash the pumpkins with a solution of 1 tablespoon of bleach to 1 gallon of water. This kills any bactyeria or fungis spores that will cause the pumpkin to rot. Keep your pumpkin in a warm humid area for a few days to let the skin thicken. After you move them outside they will last for about a month. If you store them in a cool dry place they will last for up to 3 months.
Your pets are welcome as long as they are kept on a leash.
We have a concession stand with packaged snacks and drinks. You are welcome to bring your own food. We have picnic tables set up near the playground area and down by the creek.
We have your standard outdoor facilities, which include one handicap accessible toilet.
Parking is free. The parking lot is a mowed down field.
We go down to the patch every day. We have closed occasionally but only if it is pouring!
